DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Regional Animal Services of King County/ RASKC\n\nRASKC seeks adult volunteers who are very committed to positive dog-training and who are skilled with a wide range of large and very spirited dogs\, especially pit bull terriers and mixes\, Huskies\, and German Shepherds\, on Tuesdays 4- 6pm.This is an exhilarating and deeply fulfilling experience\, albeit arduous\, using your dog-savvy skills to help some of the most vulnerable dogs in King County.Keys to success with RASKC dogs: kindness\, positive reinforcement\, and the ability to skillfully get dogs in/out of the kennel area quickly so they can enjoy fresh air outside!Typically you would share a shift with two or three other volunteers.The focus is on giving dogs a refreshing change of pace outside of its kennel- on a leisurely stroll to sniff grass nearby\, engaging in other enrichment activities\, or an energetic walk.Dog walkers are color-coded according to the type of dog they are eligible to walk.. Green: Most Dog Walkers start as color "green" are eligible to work with our friendliest dogs.. Blue: Dog Walkers who are assessed as "blue" are eligible to take out the shy dogs and the friendly dogs.. Red: Dog Walkers who are identified as "red" are eligible to walk any of the adoptable dogs\, including the ones that need skillful handling.RASKC needs "red" Dog Walkers.Next steps:.
