DESCRIPTION:Hosted by RICHMOND MUSEUM ASSN INC\n\nLocal history museum seeks Research Volunteers to provide community members with support in conducting research using museum collections and archives.The Richmond Museum of History & Culture has been in the community for over sixty years\, collecting and preserving element's of Richmond's rich history and culture for future generations. The permanent collection and archives was started in 1951 and contains a plethora of documents and artifacts related to the development of Richmond and greater West Contra Costa Country.The position of Researcher requires learning the collection and archives in order to best carry out an important aspect of our mission--education. Volunteer must be willing to handle fragile and delicate historical documents and artifacts.Researchers from all walks of life come to the museum to learn more about various subjects.
