DESCRIPTION:Hosted by CAREGIVERS:Volunteers Assisting the Elderly\n\nThe Building Bridges intergenerational student program is a valuable part of CAREGIVERS: Volunteers Assisting The Elderly organization. CAREGIVERS was founded in 1984 and has assisted thousands of seniors across Ventura County.Building Bridges is a fun after-school program in which high school students (ages 14-18) help the elderly in their community. Small groups of students will visit frail\, homebound seniors after school. Students assist with chores/yard work in a supervised setting. Students experience a real-life history lesson through these visits with local seniors.
