DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Lifespan of Greater Rochester\n\nAre you looking for fulfilling volunteer opportunities? If so\, look no further. You will be rewarded with new friendships\, fulfillment and fun when you become a Partners in Caring volunteer. A caregiver near you could use some free time - a couple of hours off from caring for a loved one to shop\, nap\, take a walk\, visit a friend.Help a local caregiver by providing friendly visits and caring companionship to someone with early stage memory loss or dementia. Visit for a few hours each week on your own schedule. We will provide training\, ongoing support and work with you to find the right match.Activities may include going to a ball game or for walks together\, looking at photo albums\, engaging in conversation\, painting\, arts and crafts\, gardening\, shopping\, sharing a meal or signing together\, among other activities. Utilize reminiscence strategies to engage the person you visit- use memories as a point of connection and help them find meaning in their life story.
