DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Caring And Sharing Foundation\, Inc.\n\nBrief Organizational Description:\nThe mission of the Friends of Byrd Park is to preserve and enhance the natural\, historic\, and recreational resources of Byrd Park by partinering with the community and City through advocacy\, stewardship\, and volunteerism.\nVolunteer Position Description and Purpose:\nThanks to a 2026 grant\, a native plant meadow is being installed in Byrd Park alongside Shields Lake. The site will have been prepared and some planting of the approximately 550 plants planned for the site will be installed. This volunteer day will be the final planting day.\nVolunteer Duties & Responsibilities:\nVolunteers will do final planting and finish any of the final touches like preventative weeding\, mulching\, cleanup\, watering\, and soil microbe applications.\nQualifications\, Skills\, & Requirements:\nNo specific skills are needed. All duties will be guided by a professional.\nTime Commitment:\n10 a.m. - 12 p.m.\nOther Information (if applicable):\nWear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes that can get dirty\nBring water bottles\nPlease bring GLOVES\nAll tools will be provided\nParking is available in the Shields Lake parking lot\n\nMinimum age: 14.\n\nDetails: https://findyourtwo.org/opp/?id=29176
