DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Alzheimer's Association\, Greater Missouri\n\nOur Opportunity:\nRiverfront Clean-up volunteers work with partners and staff to clean-up the riverfront at Gateway Arch National Park. Volunteers pick up trash along the riverfront between the Eads and Poplar bridges. Volunteers also assist with the separation of landfill materials from recyclable materials alongside Republic Services staff.\nRequired Qualifications\, Knowledge & Skills:\nA desire to rid the Mississippi River of pollution\nEnthusiasm\, friendliness\, and a positive attitude\nRespect for confidentiality of the Gateway Arch National Park’s volunteers\, staff\, and partners\nWillingness to take initiative\, and voice ideas\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time\nAbility to occasionally lift and move trash bags from one location to the next\nAbility to bend\, crouch\, or sit\nPotential Hazards:\nTrip and fall\nReaction to plants or chemicals\nInjury from trash items\nCuts and scrapes\nCommitment:\nDuration of volunteer term is 3 hours on scheduled day of service.\nLocation:\nGateway Arch National Park Riverfront (50 Lenore K. Sullivan Blvd.). Check-in will be located at the bottom of the grand staircase at the Arch.\nTraining and Supervision\nVolunteers may attend orientation but are not required to for one-time events.\nTraining will be conducted by volunteer supervisors or seasoned volunteers at the beginning of the volunteer shift\nVolunteer Perks\nContribute to a national monument\, The Gateway Arch National Park!\nAnnual volunteer recognition event\nFree parking if needed during volunteer hours\nThank you for wanting to be a part of our team.
