DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Accent Care Hospice\n\nNo one understands the questions and concerns of a U.S. military veteran more than a fellow veteran or active-duty personnel. That's why Heartland has developed the Vets-to-Vets Volunteer program\, where volunteers with similar backgrounds can meet and assist in the care of our veteran patients.\nEnd-of-life can bring about painful memories and the need to share\, possibly for the first time. Veteran volunteers off a unique camaraderie allowing our veteran patients to share their stories and support their healing.\nAs a Veteran Volunteer\, you may assist with activities such as:\n- Reminiscing and sharing life stories - often for the first time.\n- Educating or assisting patients in accessing Veteran benefits.\n- Participating in pinning ceremonies or distributing certificates during Veterans Day and other recognition events.\n- Helping replace lost medals.\n- Educating staff on policies and procedures to better support and honor Veteran patients.\nWe understand that schedules can change\, so we remain flexible and do our best to accommodate your availability - life happens\, and we’re happy to go with the flow.\nIf you are a veteran and would like more information about this important program\, we would love to talk with you!\ncherylforrester@accentcare.com\n317-885-4200\n\nDetails: https://findyourtwo.org/opp/?id=60314
