DESCRIPTION:Hosted by QPL - GCA\n\nSUMMARY:\nWe Speak New York is an Emmy Award winning English Language Learning program. We Speak NYC provides civic-focused instruction through videos\, web and print materials\, and live and online classes\, which are a service of the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs.\nInstructors receive training to use videos and materials that highlight City services\, and address such issues as education\, health\, workforce development\, adult education\, early childhood education\, and worker rights. We Speak NYC classes run once per week for 2 hours\, for an 8-week cycle in the summer\, fall\, winter\, and spring.\nMINIMUM SKILLS:\nBe at least 18 years old\nHave a high school diploma\nBe a native speaker of English or have native-speaker fluency\nBe comfortable using a computer and projector\nHave basic internet skills\nBe able to access and present a Google Slide presentation\nBe available Thursdays from 1:00-3:00pm for 8 weeks\nSCHEDULE:\nThursdays from 1:00-3:00pm for 8 weeks\nITEMS REQUIRED\nAdults (18+)\nCriminal Background Screening\nADDITIONAl NOTES\nThis is an in-person project.
