Do you want to make a positive impact in the life of a neighbor in need?Join a team of over 200 volunteers across the state that helps create a difference in the blind and low vision community!The Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI) is seeking volunteers who are interested in a relationship-building and task-oriented role!A volunteer medical driver will help a legally blind or vision impaired person be able to get to his or her medical appointments. A driver escort drives the person to their appointment and also guides them in safely to the waiting area. This volunteer will wait until the appointment is completed and then drive the client back home. Through this valuable service\, people who otherwise would not be able to access and safely navigate medical facilities\, due to their vision loss\, can reliably and securely make it to important and routine medical appointments.Volunteer driver escorts use their own vehicles and a small per trip stipend is available.
