DESCRIPTION:Hosted by The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights\n\nOur Volunteers Child Advocates work one-on-one with unaccompanied migrant children to connect with them and advocate for their rights. Child Advocates meet on a weekly basis for about an hour plus travel time.\nWe have some basic requirements to volunteering with us:\nMust be at least 21 years old.\nSpeak a language other than English. We have a specific need for people who speak Spanish and Central American Indigenous Languages.\nHave access to a car.\nAttend a 2-day new volunteer training.\nAttend an info session.\nBe willing and able to pass a background check.\nWe host multiple trainings every year in both virtual and in-person formats.
