About this opportunity

What does it mean to become a companion to a hospice patient?Really it’s all about giving your attentive presence to another - you focus on your assigned patient to be a "companion". We’re looking for people with big hearts, who are good listeners, and okay with just being quiet sometimes. Our volunteers repeatedly tell us and others, they’ve gained so much more from this than they have ever given. You may offer companionship in facilities, help with errands, provide respite to caregivers in homes, assist with writing/reading, share your musical talents, or answer other patient and family needs. Wherever they call home. You can support from home by sending cards or making phone calls. At end of life your support is greatly appreciated by our staff and those we serve! Please click this link to learn more and start your journey as an Allina Hospice Volunteer!http://www.allinahealth.org/hospicevolunteerIf you have additional questions after viewing, please email pamela.ainslie@allina.com or call 320-484-9211.Thank you for considering,Pamela Ainslie, Volunteer Coordinator
