About Metropolitan Family Service

Since 1950, our nonprofit has grown from family counseling in the early days, to a broad-based multi-service organization within our culturally diverse, intergenerational community today. We embrace innovation to create sustainable solutions that address disparities, promote equity, and demonstrate respect for all individuals. As an anti-racist and culturally responsive organization, we understand acknowledging disparities is not enough. We partner with community members who choose to partner with us to access services they see as helpful to them. At our organization, we tackle complex challenges by actively listening and engaging with diverse perspectives to understand and meet the needs of the community. In all that we do, we honor the inherent strength of intergenerational, multicultural communities.Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) volunteers serve in various capacities, depending on their interests and abilities.
