The Sunnyside Apartments Block Party is a great opportunity to meet University of Utah students and residents, enjoy a community event, and introduce them to the NMDP mission. Volunteers will help attendees learn how a quick cheek swab can give them the opportunity to potentially become a matching donor for a patient with a blood cancer or blood disease.

Greeting and engaging with residents and event attendees
Sharing how the NMDP Registry works and why donor diversity matters
Helping eligible individuals through the quick and simple registration process
Answering questions and sharing information about NMDP
Creating a welcoming, energetic, and positive presence at the event
Encouraging community members to get involved and support the NMDP mission
Each year, thousands of patients diagnosed with blood cancers like leukemia or lymphoma depend on finding a matching donor for a second chance at life. For more than 30 years, NMDP has managed the world’s most diverse marrow registry—connecting patients with the cures they need.
