Compost Hub Support: Griffith Park

Volunteer with LA Compost to gain hands-on experience working alongside their knowledgable compost managers and transform trash into nutrient-rich compost.

Who: LA Compost works to restore lost connections to the soil and to one another.
What to Expect:
Roll up your sleeves and dive into a variety of engaging activities—whether it’s managing a three-bin system, tending to a compost pile, sifting finished compost, or exploring a mix of everything. There’s something for everyone, from beginners to seasoned pros!
Plus, our Compost Hubs are situated in LA County’s most cherished green spaces: community gardens, urban farms, and beautiful parks. Join passionate community composters, learn to turn food scraps into rich compost, and connect with the local food system.
What's Required:
AGE REQUIREMENT: This volunteer activity is best suited for volunteers aged 16 and up. Minors under the age of 16 should come accompanied by a parent or guardian unless other arrangements are made.
