Give Back in Nevada’s Red Rock Canyon

Join American Hiking Society for a Volunteer Vacation in Nevada’s spectacular Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area! Spend a week helping restore the scenic White Rock Loop while experiencing the red sandstone cliffs and dramatic desert landscapes that make this area just outside Las Vegas so special.
Volunteers will work alongside Red Rock Canyon staff to repair sections of trail affected by erosion and increased visitation. Work will include repositioning and placing natural materials along the trail to improve stability and safety for hikers and runners.
No previous trail maintenance experience is required. Volunteers will receive instruction, tool demonstrations, and project guidance throughout the week. This project includes hiking over rocky and occasionally steep terrain to reach work areas, so volunteers should be comfortable with sustained outdoor physical activity.
Outside of project time, volunteers can relax at camp, explore Red Rock Canyon, hike, or discover nearby recreation opportunities.
