Team Support Volunteers help keep our programs running successfully by supporting with:Sports and competition planning/paperworkFundraising opportunitiesSpreading awareness about Special Olympics in the local community, so that we can bring on more athletes and volunteersMeeting with our regional staff and fellow team leadersMost volunteers in this role help for 3-5 hours per week, but we will work with your schedule and availability. This is a great opportunity for professionals to strengthen their leadership skills and build their resume. About Special Olympics Pennsylvania
The mission of Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with mental retardation, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
