About this opportunity

Brief Organizational Description:
Uplift Community Action (formerly CAPUP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with over 60 years of commitment to making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals facing hardships. Our mission is to replace poverty with stability and hope. Uplift’s work is organized into three connected areas — Basic Needs, Financial Empowerment, and Senior Services — designed to work together rather than in isolation. Whether someone comes for food, emergency assistance, financial counseling, or senior connection, they reach a network built to help them move forward.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
At Uplift, we LOVE volunteers! As part of our ongoing efforts to provide holistic support to our clients, Uplift partners with families to achieve their financial, educational, and other supportive goals in our cohort. We seek to minimize the expenses these families spend on everyday hygiene items, so that they can extend their budget to focus on long-term goals. We are seeking volunteers who can help us assemble care packages containing vital items. These kits will enable families to focus on their priorities and avoid worrying about those pesky everyday burdens.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Assemble a Volunteer Team: We encourage groups such as churches, corporate teams, clubs, or small groups to gather as a group to organize these packages. This is a wonderful opportunity for community involvement!
Gather Materials for Household Kits: Please select 1 of each and drop off in a box/large bag. (IF YOU ARE ONLY ABLE TO PURCHASE ONE TYPE OF ITEM, THAT IS OK. PLEASE JUST LET US KNOW!)
