Become a English for Speakers of Other Languages & Citizenship Volunteer with Heartfelt Tidbits Inc. The mission of Heartfelt Tidbits is providing support to refugees and recent immigrants living in Southwestern Ohio by facilitating integration and self-sufficiency through innovative education, cultural and employment-enhancing programming.As an English for Speakers of Other Languages & Citizenship Volunteer you will:English teachingSubstitute teaching (short or long term)Citizenship teachingSupervising childrenArt and sewing classes for adults and childrenAfter school enrichment activities at local schoolsSpecial evening and weekend classesBe a Heartfelt Tidbit ambassador at a local eventDrive new neighbors to medical appointmentsHeartfelt Tidbits offers a formal classroom setting for English language learning. In conjunction with three-hour ESL courses, they provide citizenship classes to those who have a higher English ability.MethodClasses are divided into small groups of 5-7 students. They are taught by our trained teachers and teaching assistants who help implement our innovative curriculum. Citizenship classes are taught by trained volunteers, and most often by refugees who have taken the citizenship exam.Whatever your passion and purpose is, we are here to connect you to local nonprofits. About VANTAGE Aging Retired and Senior Volunteer Program
RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) is an AmeriCorps Senior program with VANTAGE Aging. We connect volunteers age 55 and older with opportunities to serve their community. As the largest volunteer network for older adults in the nation, RSVP matches volunteers with organizations where their time, interest, talents, knowledge, and experience are most effectively utilized to meet important needs in our community. Our main objectives are to help in these fields;Nutrition & Food SupportElderly CompanionshipAdult Education and EmploymentCapacity Building & Leverage in Resource Development and Donation Management Other Community PrioritiesAs a RSVP volunteer, you would receive:Nationally counted and recognized volunteer hoursAdditional free liability insurance while volunteeringFree recognition events, incentives, and opportunities to socialize with other RSVP volunteersFree in-person and/or virtual trainings
