Help seniors receive needed tax refunds.Volunteer to be a greeter for the ESOP VITA Tax Season: typically running February-mid April* 9am-2pm Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays as arranged with program staff and volunteeravailabilityGreeter Duties:* Work with ESOP and Benjamin Rose staff to schedule days to be responsible to help greet and assistwith tax preparation at the tax site;* Welcome and orient the tax filers to the tax site;* Provide taxpayers with an intake folder and intake sheet;* Ensure taxpayers have the necessary information and documents required by the IRS;* Direct taxpayers to the appropriate waiting area and explain process;* Assist in making copies of proper ID’s, forms, documents, etc.Ideal volunteer will have:* Strong interpersonal skills;* Able to maintain personal boundaries with clients;* Able to relate to older adults of different ethnic and income groups, and varying capabilities;* Intermediate computer skills;* Able to maintain confidentiality of Benjamin Rose participants and volunteers;* Full Covid-19 vaccination required or exemption approved prior to start.Volunteers do not need experience with taxes to volunteer.Help seniors receive much needed funds by volunteering monthly or more often!
