Economic Mobility Resource Systems VISTA
♡ SaveAbout this opportunity
The Unified Government of Wyandotte County's Mayor's Office seeks to strengthen its capacity to address poverty and economic insecurity among low-income residents through its economic mobility initiative. Residents experiencing financial hardship may face interconnected barriers to accessing essential resources, education, employment opportunities, and services that support long-term financial stability. The initiative aims to improve how residents identify and navigate available resources while building sustainable systems that support economic mobility.
The Economic Mobility Resource Systems VISTA will build organizational capacity by developing tools, processes, and resources that help the Mayor's Office and its partners identify community needs, organize resource information, and strengthen connections between residents and existing services. The VISTA will support the development of a centralized resource directory, resource navigation and referral frameworks, and tools that help staff and community partners maintain accurate information about available programs and eligibility requirements. The member will also develop processes for identifying service gaps, documenting barriers to resource access, and evaluating the usefulness of resource navigation efforts.
Through this work, the VISTA will establish reusable systems and documentation that enable staff to maintain resource information, coordinate with community partners, and assess opportunities to improve access over time. These capacity-building efforts will strengthen the Mayor's Office's ability to coordinate resources, reduce barriers faced by low-income residents, and sustain economic mobility strategies beyond the member's service term.
