Providence ElderPlace helps older adults remain as healthy and independent as possible in the community for as long as possible. As volunteers we are helping support and enrich the lives of our participants.Friendly Visitors: The ElderPlace Friendly Visitors provide one-on-one support with our participants in our social centers. Many of our clients benefit greatly from one-on-one interactions and building relationships with volunteers. The friendly visitor is very beneficial to our participants who do not have a strong natural support system. Support can include playing a variety of games with a group of participants, gardening, reminiscing, or engaging in light conversation one on one with a participant. ElderPlace has locations throughout Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas Counties.QualificationsAbility to engage with many types of peopleGood listening skillsDependable16 + years of age

Providence ElderPlace is an innovative program of health care and social services for older adults. Our model of care is known as PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly). Nationally, PACE programs keep older adults as healthy as possible in the community by providing comprehensive health care and social services including: primary and specialty medical care, a day health program, social work services, rehabilitation, housing (if necessary) and much more.
