Swansboro West Community Clean-Up

Brief Organizational Description:
The Swansboro West Civic Association sponsors a neighborhood clean-up the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 to noon. Every little bit helps.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Volunteers will be paired up to collect trash on the sidewalks and streets in different areas of the neighborhood.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Volunteers will be identifying trash, grasping it with pickers and putting it into bags. When a bag gets full or too heavy, the volunteers will leave it at an intersection and notify the event coorinator of the location for later retrieval.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No special skills or training is needed. Just need the ability to walk, grasp trash with a picker, put it into a bag and carry the bag while walking.
Time Commitment:
The event is scheduled for two hours from 10:00am to noon, but we will take whatever time someone can offer during that time period.
Other Information (if applicable):
Comfortable shoes are highly recommended
Glove, vests, pickers and bags will be provided (unless we run out)
Street parking is available throughout the neighborhood

Minimum age: 10.
