Brief Organizational Description:
Culture Encounters is a nonprofit organization that brings people together through arts, culture, education, and shared experiences. We create opportunities for neighbors of all backgrounds to connect, learn from one another, and celebrate the rich cultural diversity of our community.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Support Culture Encounters’ monthly Eat. Talk. Connect. dinners, a community dinner series centered around food, conversation, and cultural connection. Volunteers help our team create a welcoming experience for guests while assisting with setup, event support, cleanup, and breakdown. We need volunteers to help create a more efficient set up and take down process.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Volunteer assignments may include:
Setting up tables, chairs, decor, sign in table, gift table, and other event materials
Moving materials into the facility for setup and assisting with set up
Assisting with guest sign-in
Providing general event support as needed
Cleaning up and breaking down the event space
Cleaning of serving items after or before the dinner
Moving materials back to the Culture Encounters office space and the kitchen
Assignments may change throughout the evening based on event needs.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No prior experience is required. Volunteers should be dependable, flexible, comfortable working as part of a team, and willing to assist with different types of tasks.
Please come dressed in business-casual or dressy-casual attire, such as slacks with a polo or button-up shirt or an appropriate dressy-casual outfit. It should be something you are comfortable carrying things in or doing tasks in, nothing too restricting.
Some setup and breakdown duties may involve standing, walking
