Community Outreach & Food Distribution Volunteer

Help Us Serve Families in Our Community!
New Salem Missionary Baptist Church is seeking caring and dependable volunteers to assist with our community food distribution efforts. Our goal is to help individuals and families experiencing food insecurity by providing groceries and other essential resources in a welcoming, respectful, and organized environment.
Volunteer activities may include:
Sorting and organizing donated food and supplies
Packing grocery bags and food boxes
Setting up tables and distribution stations
Greeting and checking in participants
Distributing food and other resources
Loading groceries into participants' vehicles
Restocking distribution areas
Assisting senior adults and individuals who may need additional help
Helping with setup and cleanup
No previous experience is required. Instructions will be provided when volunteers arrive.
Volunteers should be dependable, respectful, willing to work as part of a team, and committed to treating every individual and family we serve with dignity.
Some assignments may require standing, walking, bending, or lifting boxes. Light-duty opportunities may also be available for volunteers who are unable to lift.
Students and Community Service: Students seeking community service hours are welcome to participate. Documentation of completed volunteer hours can be provided when requested.
What to Wear: Please wear comfortable, appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes.
