Thank you for your interest in the Volunteer Program at Vitalant (formerly known as BloodSource). It will be great to have your help at one of our centers serving refreshments and monitoring the donor refreshment lounge or on mobile blood drives greeting volunteer blood donors. Please see the instructions below to sign up.Vitalant is a nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving and life-sustaining services to millions of people across the nation. Through a network of blood donor centers and mobile blood and a passionate volunteer donor base. Together, with our communities, we are the source for a precious and perishable resource. We can only meet this demand through the generosity of blood donors, as well as our volunteers.Keep in mind that volunteering in no way gives an edge for Vitalant employment and volunteers are not allowed to perform regulated tasks or receive hands-on donor clinical experience. We are not able to offer internships, mentoring or job shadowing. Vitalant does not accept volunteers for court ordered or appointed community service hours.There are centers in your community that need help serving refreshments to volunteer donors after the donation process and monitoring the donor lounge: AUBURN, ELK GROVE, FAIR OAKS, FOLSOM, GRANITE BAY, GRASS VALLEY, MIDTOWN-SACRAMENTO, PLACERVILLE, and ROSEVILLE.We also need help with mobile blood drives in your community; greeting donors and welcoming them to the blood drive and giving them the necessary paperwork to complete the donation process.ONE volunteer needed per shift.
