Immerse Yourself In Polynesian Culture!

The Sacramento Aloha Festival (SAF) was founded in 2010 by Auntie Mona Foster and Hui O Hawai'i of Sacramento. The first festival was held on October 2011. In 2013 the Ka'onohi Foundation was established to continue the legacy and the future of the Sacramento Aloha Festival. Our festival wouldn't be an ongoing success without the dedication of our hard-working volunteers! This year our festival will be held on Saturdya, September 19th. No experience necessary.
Responsibilities may include:
Greeting guests
Collecting payments for entry into the festival or beverage sales
Scanning digital or printed tickets for entry (access to a smartphone is necessary)
Answering questions regarding directions to a booth/vendor (map will be provided)
Qualifications:
Ability to stand for long periods (accommodations will be provided for those with disabilities)
Ability to work in outdoor conditions (expect summer heat)
Good communication skills
Friendly attitude when greeting guests
Flexibility- may be asked to assist in various roles during a shift, as needs may change
Reliability- being on time for shifts and following through on commitment is vital to the success of our festival
Volunteers will be given a free commemorative t-shirt for their service and free entry to the festival. Snacks and water will be provided for all volunteers. Lunch will be provided for volunteers who work 8 or more hours. For students, this may fulfill requirements for community service hours at your school (check with your school counselor to confirm). 8 or more hours of volunteer service fulfills one of the requirements to qualify for a scholarship from the Ka'onohi Foundation.
