Senior Center Facility Volunteer

Description: Under general supervision and guidance from the Senior Center Coordinator, Volunteer will Welcome every visitor warmly and an eagerness to help.
Reports to: Senior Center Coordinator
Hours: 1pm-5pm – Monday-Friday
Duties:
Help set up chairs, tables, and other equipment for meals, classes, and events
Take down and store chairs, tables and other equipment after programs
Help organize supplies
Assist with decorating the Center for holidays and events
Assist with maintaining the garden beds outside the Center
Help update community bulletin boards and program postings
Help dust and tidy the sitting/library area
Maintain organization of supplies and inventory
Other duties maybe assigned
Skills:
Excellent communication skills in English (Spanish or ASL is a plus)
An friendly personality and strong customer services skills
Ability to walk, sit, crouch, and lift up to 25 lbs
Ability to follow instructions and work in a safe manner
Requirements:
Dependable
Some knowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of older persons
Complete orientation process
Background check clearance and any mandated trainings
