Intermountain Health/St. Mary's Regional Hospital volunteers provide retail customer service in the Gift Shop to patients, visitors and staff.Assigned Duties:Welcome and assist customers in selection of gift shop items.Operates cash register and credit card machine for all sales.Answers the phone and completes phone orders for merchandise.Follow procedures for opening and closing the Gift Shop.Dust and restock shelves and maintain the cleanliness of the shop.Observe for potential shoplifters.Completes daily and weekly assigned tasks such as watering plants and checking- in floral arrangements.Merchandise and inventory processing.Display reconfiguration and design.Requirements:Must pass criminal background check and complete hospital health screening.Complete hospital orientation and position training.Maintain patient confidentiality.Be courteous and respectful toward patients, visitiors, staff and volunteers.Represent the hospital core values and mission.Able to work without supervision.Able to adapt to a changing environment.Ability to speak pleasantly on the phone.Customer service experience.Ability to work with team members.Ability to follow directions.Other Skills:Retail experience and cashier experience helpful.Physical Requirements:Sitting: 20%Standing: 65%Walking: 10%Bending: 5%Lifting: Up to 10lbs. occasionallyDays & Times Available:Monday-Friday: 9am-1pm, 1pm-5pm, 5pm-7pmSaturday and Sunday: varies times available

Through friendship and routine assistance, Community Connections volunteers help their assigned clients to continue living at home. The goals of the program are threefold:Enable older adults, 60 and older, who no longer drive, to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.Provide opportunities for social engagement that reduce isolation and enrich the lives of those we serve.Ensure access to medical services and food stability.Meals on Wheels Mesa County provides affordable lunchtime meals to seniors 60 and older in Mesa County. The program prepares and serves over 200,000 meals annually-600 or more per day. Meals are served at eight dining site locations. Over 500 meals are home delivered each weekday, to the frail and homebound elderly in the Grand Valley.
