About this opportunity

We at Florida Grand Opera are looking forward to opening our 2025–26 season with a powerful and moving production: Silent Night by Kevin Puts, with a libretto by Mark Campbell. This Pulitzer Prize–winning opera is based on the true story of a spontaneous Christmas Eve ceasefire during World War I, when soldiers laid down their weapons and connected through music, humanity, and hope.We are looking for volunteers to help in the front lobby area. There are a variety of roles to be filled: greeting and directing patrons, helping at activity stations, assisting with set-up and clean-up, and more.Performance location and dates:Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County / Ziff Ballet Opera HouseThursday, November 13, 2025 at 7:00 pm (Final Dress Rehearsal) Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 7:00 pmNovember 16, 2025 at 3:00 pmTuesday, November 18, 2025 at 8:00 pmWe ask that you arrive in the lobby 1.5 hours before the performance beginsPlease wear all black. Note that the Final Dress Rehearsal will be attended by the students of Miami-Dade County as part of FGO's H.O.P.E. program. About FLORIDA GRAND OPERA INC

Florida Grand Opera, the oldest performing arts organization in Florida, celebrates its 83rd year of continuously producing grand opera during the 2024-25 season. The mainstage operas of the season include Mozart's The Magic Flute on ; Donizetti's The Elixir of Love on ; and Bizet's Carmen on. Founded in 1941 as Greater Miami Opera and later merging with The Opera Guild Inc. in 1994, FGO presents a mixture of standard repertoire and contemporary works as well as commissions and new productions - all featuring projected translations in English and Spanish. Performances occur in the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Miami as well as the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale.
