Special Olympics Flag Football

Special Olympics Flag Football is a unified, inclusive sports program that offers individuals with intellectual disabilities 8 years and up the opportunity to develop football skills, build teamwork, and enjoy the spirit of competition in a supportive environment. Athletes work on basic football fundamentals such as passing, catching, running, and defensive strategies while learning sportsmanship and having fun!
Obtain 1 volunteer hour!
Please fill out the Special Olympics Class A Volunteer Form (attached) and complete the Protective Behaviors Course (approx. 1 hr.) You will receive an additional 2 hours. Only need to complete once for any Special Olympics Volunteering!
Volunteer Roles:
Volunteers play an essential role in creating a positive and safe experience for our athletes.
Volunteer roles include:
Assisting participants with drills, gameplay, and understanding rules
Offering encouragement and support throughout practice
Helping with field setup before the session and takedown afterward
Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes
What to Bring & Wear:
Athletic clothing and closed toe athletic shoes
Sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc.)
A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
No previous experience in football or coaching is necessary, just a willingness to be active, supportive, and inclusive.
