We are looking for additional members for our Board of Directors.We are looking for board members who want to use their skills and passions to promote good health, support growth of independence and community inclusion for adults with disabilities. We have room for a wide range of skills and interests - banking or bookkeeping, event planning, networking, fundraising, information technology, human resources, and board development. Most of all, we are looking for people who have a heart connection with the issues affecting individuals with disabilities. Would you be that person?Position Description:Kokua's Board of Directors includes individuals who are dedicated to the organization’s mission to "Provide individuals with disabilities the support needed to lead full and meaningful lives". Serving on Kokua's Board of Directors is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about human rights and community inclusion.Board members are expected to read and understand Kokua’s financial statements and to otherwise help the board fulfill its fiduciary responsibilities.Board members are expected to attend one board meetings per month. Board meetings are typically on the first Tuesday night of the month from 7-9pm, though this schedule may differ during certain times of the year. Board members are expected to read any prepared board materials or email/Slack correspondence in advance of board meetings and to come prepared to ask questions and participate in discussions.Board members are expected to serve on one or more committees of the board and to actively participate in committee work.Board membe
