Volunteer Advocate
♡ SaveAbout this opportunity
Our team of volunteer advocates are court appointed to advocate for the best interest of children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Volunteers learn about the needs of the child for whom they are advocating through talking to other parties to the case, speaking to those that are involved in the child's life, and meeting with the child on a regular basis. With that information they give our local judges regular updates on the child's life and make recommendations in the best interest of the child. About COLUMBIA GORGE CASA
The advocacy provided by CASA helps ensure that every child experiencing foster care in Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman Counties has the opportunity to transition successfully into adulthood. Research shows that when a CASA volunteer is appointed, outcomes are strengthened for children and families, more needed services are ordered, children are significantly less likely to reenter the child welfare system, children perform better academically and behaviorally, and have higher levels of hope.
