Braille Institute's Santa Barbara Center needs volunteers to assist at their front desk. Duties include answering the phone and transferring calls, greeting visitors, assisting students and various administrative duties. Shifts are available Monday-Friday, 11:30-2:00. No experience in working with people who are blind and visually impaired is necessary. Training will be provided. Braille Institute offers a variety of services to people who are blind and visually impaired, from mobility and technology training, to low vision rehabilitation and home visits, to arts and exercise classes, to a vast library of braille and audio titles for every age, and more. Each year, we help tens of thousands of people regain and maintain their independence. Thanks to generous donations, Braille Institute services are available free of charge.
