Join Mayla’s Pediatric Cancer Foundation for Cards of Courage—a volunteer opportunity to create handmade, uplifting cards for teens and preteens fighting pediatric cancer and sickle cell disease.Volunteers will help craft encouraging messages and colorful artwork to bring joy and hope to young patients during some of their toughest moments. No artistic skills required—just a kind heart and willingness to share compassion.Responsibilities:Design and write encouraging cards using provided suppliesParticipate in a welcoming, family-friendly group settingSupport a mission of kindness, awareness, and emotional healingQualifications:Open to all ages—families, kids, individuals, and groups welcomeNo experience necessary; all supplies and guidance providedVolunteers under 16 should be accompanied by an adultEvent Details:Location: Jim Ward Community Center, 301 NW 46th Ave, Plantation, FL 33317Dates: Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM – 12:00 PMSaturday, July 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM – 12:00 PMSaturday, August 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM – 12:00 PMLight snacks will be served, and all materials will be provided.Volunteers can attend one or multiple dates.Walkins welcomed.Help us spread courage, one card at a time.
About Mayla Pediatric Cancer Foundation
Founded in 2023, Mayla Pediatric Cancer Foundation is based in South Florida and serves pediatric cancer and hematology patients, primarily ages 10 and up, including young adults still receiving pediatric care. Our mission is grounded in compassion, community, and equity—delivering in-kind support, emotional care, milestone celebrations, and career-readiness programs to underserved patients and their families.We also work to raise awareness about childhood cancer and sickle cell disparities through advocacy and community engagement. Our programs include Get Well Soon baskets, the Courage and Care Warrior Program, Pathways to Success, and seasonal giving events. Whether we’re bringing joy to a hospital room or guiding a teen through career exploration, we believe no family should walk this journey alone.
