Communications & Development Intern
Position Summary
The Communications & Development Intern supports Second Chance Society's fundraising, communications, and community engagement efforts. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Donor & Community Relations Director, this position assists with donor stewardship, corporate partnerships, marketing, special events, digital communications, and community outreach.
This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, communications, and strategic relationship management while helping expand Second Chance Society's impact throughout Broward County.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development
· Support donor stewardship activities, including thank-you letters, acknowledgments, and reengagement phone calls, and impact updates.
· Help research prospective corporate, foundation, and individual donors.
· Maintain organized donor files and development records.
· Assist with preparation of board and fundraising reports.
· Support grant-related communications and partner follow-up.
Communications & Marketing
· Create social media content (engaging reels, videos, and graphics) awareness and fundraising campaigns.
· Support social media engagement efforts to increase brand visibility.
· Assist with website updates and content management.
· Draft newsletters, e-news content, and email communications.
· Develop flyers, brochures, and promotional materials using tools like Canva.
· Assist with photography and videography during events.
Community Engagement
· Assist in coordinating community outreach initiatives.
· Help schedule and prepare for corporate tours and partner meetings.
