About this opportunity

Do you live in King County? You have older adult neighbors who can’t get to the bus, can’t drive, and don’t have friends or family who can take them to important medical appointments. Volunteer to drive them as it fits your schedule-drive someone just once a month, or sign up to give rides more often. Something as simple as offering a ride can make a huge difference in the health and wellness of your neighbors! Each neighbor has physical constraints that make driving or taking the bus unfeasible. Looking for safe drivers who understand the difficulties a client may face due to chronic illness and mobility limitations.Volunteer Services, a program of Catholic Community Services, assists low-income elders and persons living with disabilities. Volunteers can provide assistance with light housecleaning, transportation, grocery shopping, home repair and yard care. With a little help from volunteers, clients can continue to live independently in their homes.Due to the vulnerable population we serve, volunteers must complete an application, pass a background check and attend an orientation.

About Volunteer Services

Volunteer Services is a program of Catholic Community Services. We are a Washington state-wide program, started as a safety net for older adults and adults with disabilities who do not qualify for state-paid chore assistance and cannot afford to hire assistance.
