When: Every Wednesday. Shifts needed are: 8am-1pm Patient check in, post-op recovery1pm-5:30pm Patient discharge, post-op recovery, inventory, cleaningCommitment: minimum 6 monthsLocation: Renton, WASkills: attention to detail, 16+ years old, interest in animal welfare and/or veterinary medicineDescription:The Pet Services Program at Pasado’s Safe Haven is focused on providing low cost spay/neuter surgeries to income-qualified populations, helping to prevent shelter overpopulation and unnecessary euthanasia. We are looking for flexible volunteers to help us at South King County Spay/Neuter Clinic in Renton on the 3 rd Sunday every month between 7am and 5pm. Clinic volunteers will be trained to work in a high volume spay/neuter clinic setting. Volunteers will be helping with a variety of tasks including sterilizing equipment and instruments, performing surgical prep which includes shaving pets, monitoring patient recovery, entering data into our database, drawing vaccines, and cleaning. This is a fast-paced clinic environment where cats will be meowing and may have accidents that need to be cleaned up. Most roles require standing and lifting. No previous veterinary or animal handling experience required- we will train you!
