Event: Sonoma-Marin Walk To End Alzheimer'sWalk Day: Saturday, October 4, 2025Where: Sonoma State University / Green Music CenterWebsite: alz.org/sonomamarinwalkThe Walk to End Alzheimer's is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Families facing Alzheimer's and all other dementia need us now more than ever. With a goal of raising over $600,000 it takes a strong committee all year to make this event happen here in Sonoma & Marin counties. We are looking for Committee members and Walk day volunteers to help us promote the event and fundraising efforts, and make it an even better and bigger success this year. We are also looking for volunteers to assist with community engagement efforts including but not limited to recruiting new teams, engaging with local businesses, recognizing donors and fundraisers, and building public awareness through media outlets. We meet virtually on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm but attendance is not required to help fill a role - whether it be postings on social media, phoning past teams/participants, reaching out to companies for sponsorships and so much more - every little bit helps.If you would like more information about the Committee and/or are interested in volunteering on Walk day, please contact Darci Athens, Walk Manager, at athens@alz.org or (707) 273.1620.Make a difference in the lives of the individuals and families living with Alzheimer's disease by helping us put on our annual fundraiser!

What We Do: The Walk To End Alzheimer's is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease! When you participate in Walk, your fundraising dollars fuel our mission, and your participation in the event helps to change the level of Alzheimer's awareness in your community. The Alzheimer's Association provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help participants reach their fundraising goal. While there is no fee to register, we encourage participants to fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness. Please consider starting a team or signing up to walk as an individual for walk day. We also are looking for help! We could not do it without our volunteers! Please consider volunteering with us. Who We Are: We provide support, care and education for those living with or caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease. This includes a 24/7 Helpline, 1-800-292-3900.
