About this opportunity

The Youth Sunday School Teacher is responsible for providing spiritual education to children and youth, helping them develop a strong foundation in their faith. This role involves creating engaging, age-appropriate lessons based on biblical teachings while fostering a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for learning.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:⦁ Prepare and teach weekly Sunday School lessons in accordance with the church’s curriculum.⦁ Use interactive activities such as storytelling, games, crafts, and music to reinforce lessons.⦁ Encourage student participation and facilitate discussions to help youth apply biblical principles to their daily lives.⦁ Establish and maintain a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.⦁ Maintain attendance records and communicate with parents as needed.⦁ Serve as a role model by demonstrating Christian values and positive behavior.⦁ Assist in planning special youth events, holiday programs, or outreach activities.⦁ Follow all Salvation Army policies regarding child safety and classroom management.Qualifications:⦁ Must be at least 16 years old.⦁ Passion for working with children and youth in a faith-based setting.⦁ Strong understanding of biblical principles and willingness to teach from The Salvation Army’s perspective.⦁ Good communication, leadership, and organizational skills.⦁ Experience in teaching or working with children is preferred but not required.⦁ Must pass a background check and complete child safety training before teaching.Schedule & Time Commitment:⦁ Sundays, ongoing⦁ Typically 9:30am-12:30pm every Sunday, plus lesson preparation time.Additional Information:⦁ Orientation and training provided on curriculum, classroom management, and child safety policies.⦁ Opportunity to develop leadership and teaching s
