Senior Escort Program helps seniors to maintain their independence with the companionship of a volunteer Senior Escort. Their presence will ensure the safety of seniors, reduce incident encounters, and help them to return safely, as well as make them feel comfortable going about their daily activities.
Volunteers will support seniors through the following activities:
Meet seniors at a public location, like their home or store, and escort them to other public areas of the greater Sacramento area.
Going for a walk, escorting a senior to an appointment, going grocery shopping, etc.
Ensure seniors safely leave the site or return home
Also, for youths from high school to college, we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers willing to come and help support our 5000 Walks Celebration on June 18th! This special event will bring together volunteers and seniors to commemorate wellness, connection, community spirit, and joyfulness in their lives. Come be part of the team! Free lunch will be provided to volunteers!
In combating loneliness and isolation, we’re giving volunteers and seniors the opportunity to spend quality time together, going out and enjoying nature. Instead of worrying about the fate of the future, practice mindfulness and walk with your feet to bring your mental health levels up.
