Volunteers are needed to help distribute fresh produce as part of the Community Produce Program. This is a great way to learn about Food Bank programs in action while helping us distribute food directly to neighbors in need. This position does require frequent standing, bending, and lifting during this volunteer opportunity.
All volunteers must be scheduled.
Masks are optional for all volunteer shifts.
Volunteers need to arrive no later than the shift start time.
If you sign up for a shift that you cannot attend, please log into your account and remove yourself so that someone else can sign up to help us.
The truck may not be there at the start of your shift, please wait, we are on our way!
All volunteers must wear a nametag and closed-toed shoes.
Dress according to the weather — as distributions take place outdoors, rain or shine.
Volunteers may be asked to stand, bend, and lift produce.
This volunteer opportunity is open to Groups such as corporate groups, youth clubs, schools and any other community or religious organizations. Please submit a Group Request Form to schedule.
Individuals needing court-ordered community service MUST complete the court-ordered community service request online and be accepted prior to signing up for a shift.
Minimum age: 11.
About Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano
We distribute food into the community by operating our own free food programs each week within Contra Costa and Solano counties and by partnering with 260 local nonprofit agencies to support their hunger-fighting efforts.The work volunteers put in annually is equivalent to 50 full-time employees; they are the heart of our organization and we couldn’t do it without them.
