Lead a Knitting Club for Seniors - "Keep Calm and Carry Yarn"!Do you love knitting and want to share your passion with others? Volunteer to lead a weekly knitting club for seniors at Lakeside in Oakland! This is a great opportunity to build community, share skills, and bring joy to residents who enjoy crafting and socializing.When: Weekly, Tuesdays, 1PM-2PMWhat You'll Do:Lead a small group of seniors in a relaxed knitting sessionProvide guidance and support for beginners and experienced knitters alikeFoster a warm and welcoming environment for social engagementA Service Coordinator will be on-site to support the activity. No professional teaching experience is needed-just a love for knitting and patience to help others!Requirements: Ongoing SAHA Community Volunteers must commit to volunteer once a week for a minimum of 4 months, and must complete a volunteer orientation, volunteer forms and background screening prior to beginning their placement.About SAHA: Satellite Affordable Housing Associates is committed to providing quality, service-enriched, affordable housing in the bay area. About Satellite Affordable Housing Associates
The purpose of the SAHA's Volunteer Program is to improve the quality of living and promote health and well-being for Satellite Housing's residents. Volunteers will help foster community by facilitating activities for the residents, such as exercise groups, art classes, discussion groups, providing health and wellness information, leading or participating in games, assisting with special events, etc. The residents really appreciate the effort that is put forth by the volunteers, and look forward to the weekly interactions.
