Explore the Magic of Fall as it brings an abundance of delicious and nutritious fruits and vegetables on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at our Fall Harvest Family Day. Individuals, groups and families with children as young as five years old are invited to bag fresh fall produce at our warehouse.
This opportunity is open to individuals, groups and families with children ages 5 and above. Scheduling is first come, first served.
Important information to read before you sign up:
All volunteers must be scheduled.
One actively volunteering adult for every 8 children between the ages of 5-15 volunteering is required.
When you Express Interest in participating in our Fall Harvest Day Family Food Sort, you will be required to tell us how many children and how many adults are in your group.
After submitting your Express Interest request, please wait for an official confirmation from us. You will be notified if there is space for your group, or if the shift is full & you have been placed on the Waiting List.
Please observe the following guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your group.
Arrive on time and plan to stay for your entire shift.
Volunteers must sign-in for their shifts on the tablet and on the paper on the clipboard. If the tablet is not working, you will need to ask staff for an additional paper attendance sheet to record your hours.
Masks are optional for all volunteer shifts.
All volunteers must wear a nametag and closed-toed shoes.
The warehouse temperature can vary so volunteers should dress accordingly. We recommend dressing in layers.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel, please log in to your volunteer account and remove yourself from the registration.

We distribute food into the community by operating our own free food programs each week within Contra Costa and Solano counties and by partnering with 260 local nonprofit agencies to support their hunger-fighting efforts.The work volunteers put in annually is equivalent to 50 full-time employees; they are the heart of our organization and we couldn’t do it without them.
