Shop and Make Pantry Care BagsAny one of any age, any time, any where can volunteer to shop and make Pantry Care Bags for families.Pantry Care Bags of non-perishable food help families make comforting home-cooked meals after spending long days at the hospital. They give family members the gift of spending less time shopping at the store, and more time with their sick child at the hospital and one another.We welcome you to make and donate as many bags as you choose. Thank you for volunteering!STEP 1:Shop and fill each green tote bag with:1 bag of rice (1lb)1 can of tuna (5 oz)1 box of pasta (1lb)1 bag of beans (1lb)1 can of fruit (14 oz)1 can of sweet corn (15 oz)1 can of black beans (15 oz)1 can of pasta sauce (24 oz)1 bottle of cooking oil (16 oz)1 can of tomato sauce (15 oz)1 can of soup, chili or stew (18 oz)1 plastic jar of peanut butter (16 oz)1 canister of quick cook oats (18 oz)1 plastic squeeze bottle of jelly/jam (20 oz)2 bags of mixed nuts, peanuts or pretzels (5+ oz)STEP 2:Neatly place the items into There With Care's green tote bags. Please ask for supplies of green tote bags. Alternatively, use new brown paper grocery bags that have no information or decoration on both sides.STEP 3: (Optional)Include a handwritten, decorated, There With Care printed note card in each bag. Please ask for supplies of printed note cards.On the note card, write the name of your family, corporation/business, school or faith/community group.Write one phrase: Skip the store. Dinner is in the bag. Enjoy! OR What's for dinner? About There With Care of the Bay Area

The Bay Area Chapter was created in 2011, seven years after the founding chapter opened in Colorado. There With Care receives referrals from medical social workers at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in Mission Bay, San Francisco.
