StandUp for Kids is looking for a Chapter Director to oversee operational and financial health of Silicon Valley Chapter. The Chapter Director works collaboratively with National Staff and local volunteers to strategically carry out the mission to end the cycle of youth homelessness. Must be professional, well organized and equipped to work through challenges. Must be self-directed, action oriented and have the ability to work with diverse groups of people.

Youth homelessness continues to be one of the most challenging issues facing our society today:Over 2 million kids are currently homeless in the USYouths make up 27% of the total homeless population and are the fastest growing segmentHalf of all homeless kids are under the age of 1513 homeless teens die on the street every dayTeens leave their homes for many different reasons, but ultimately because their home is an unsafe environment. These kids "couch surf" at the homes of their friends if they are fortunate, or find ways to live anonymously on the street if they aren’t so lucky. Some of them go it alone, some of them reach out for help, but all of them dream of a better future.Our all-volunteer organization, STANDUP FOR KIDS Silicon Valley, helps these homeless teens ages 12-24, by providing them with the basics of food, clothing and hygiene products, assisting them with school, medical and legal issues, getting them vocational training and job search assistance and working with them to create a life plan for that better future they desire. Our core programs are outreach, mentoring and housing support.
