The Ventura County Educational Center in Moorpark seeks motivated interns to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience while supporting students and families in our community.Children Mending Hearts empowers underserved youth through educational and creative programs that build empathy, encourage resilience, and inspire positive community engagement. We are dedicated to providing young people with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive, while fostering compassion and understanding across diverse communities.Internship Opportunities:Administrative Support—Help with scheduling, record keeping, data entry, organizing files, answering phones and emails, and supporting program coordination.Virtual Tutoring – Provide academic support to students in a variety of subjects online, help with homework, encourage study skills, and track student progress.Event & Program Support – Help plan, prepare, and run educational workshops, family events, and community activities.Outreach & Communication: Help create flyers, update social media posts, and share information with families and partners.Resource Development – Help gather and organize educational materials, prepare handouts, and research tools to strengthen tutoring and family support.Mentorship & Student Engagement – Serve as a positive role model by encouraging participation, fostering connection, and celebrating student achievements.What We’re Looking For:Reliable and motivated individualsStrong communication and organizational skillsPassion for helping students succeedAbility to commit [insert weekly hours]Benefits of Interning With Us:Hands-on experience in education and nonprofit administrationFlexible scheduling, with opportunities for remote workA chance to make a meani
About Children Mending Hearts
For over 10 years, Children Mending Hearts has been dedicated to combatting bullying and intolerance by inspiring empathy in children through art and service-learning programs.Our mission is to teach empathy through arts and service learning programs in an effort to bring an end to bullying and intolerance. We firmly believe that empathy can change the world.Over the years CMH has grown to include curriculums for students from preschool to middle school, workshops for students, parents, and teachers, and a website filled with empathy resources.Distance learning changed the ways in which we were able to reach teachers and students, resulting in new programs that would still spread empathy, but now required us teaching kids by example.
