Chef Instructor Class Aide

Help us change lives through food! Stone Soup PDX is looking for volunteers with some kitchen experience to assist our Chef Instructors during culinary training classes. You’ll support adults overcoming employment barriers as they build job-ready cooking skills.What You’ll Do:Help gather tools, ingredients, and supplies during classSupport participants with basic cooking techniques and kitchen tasksAssist with dishwashing and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchenBe a calm, encouraging presence as students learn and growVolunteer Requirements:Some culinary experience-comfortable in a kitchen and familiar with basic terms and toolsOregon Food Handler’s card (we’ll provide information if you need one)Commit to one 3.5-hour shift/week for at least 5 weeksEnjoy helping people learn in a hands-on, fast-paced environment3 shifts available:Wednesday August 06, 2025 - 12:30 to 16:00 PSTWednesday September 03, 2025 - 12:30 to 16:00 PSTWednesday October 01, 2025 - 12:30 to 16:00 PST
