Stage and Furnish Homes for Families Displaced by the LA Fires (Home Creation)
♡ SaveAbout this opportunity
A Sense of Home's Disaster Relief Program provides functioning home environments for families who lost everything in the LA fires. Within our 10,000 sq foot warehouse, in proximity to Altadena, volunteers select furniture and home goods (mostly donated by companies and community members), and stage several rooms of a custom-designed home layout which is then revealed to the family. After a brief ceremony of stories and well wishes, volunteers wrap and load all items into the family's rented truck. These are called Home Creations and volunteers complete 2-3 HC's in one 2.5 hour shift. Additional volunteer activities could be assembling furniture, organizing and restocking inventory, breaking down boxes and other miscellaneous projects and tasks.Select a shift on a Thursday, Friday or SaturdayAM Shift: 10:00am-12.30pm (creating 2-3 homes)PM Shift: 1:00-3:30pm (creating 2-3 homes)Stay for both shifts (5.5 hours total) and create up to 6 homes for 6 different families.Through care, community, and thoughtful design, A Sense of Home's Disaster Relief Program offers survivors of the LA wildfires the foundation needed to rebuild and rise.
