Tennis and PE Assistant Coach

This is an important dual role as our coaches also provide mentorship to our student-athletes during program hours. Some Tennis experience helpful but will train to be a coach! Must be great with kids!Qualifications:Strong desire to work with tennis players and be a positive role modelAbility to execute and facilitate on-court programming for children or adultsEnthusiastic attitudeTennis playing experience and familiarity with the game is preferredWe'll train you!Teaching and/or coaching experience is a plusCollaborate with fellow instructors and volunteersStrong communications and collaborative skillsMust pass background check and complete 30 minute online coaching courseRequirements:Build and maintain a fun, inclusive, safe and welcoming environment for all participants, on court and offProvide program session instructionExecute LoveSetMatch Coach Core curriculum and facilitate tennis play for participants as directed by program directorLead by example and bring energy and enthusiasm to all on-court session activitiesEnsure program equipment is properly maintained, set up before each session and put awayBe a team playerAssist with feedback and program assessments with students, team members and leadership

LoveSetMatch is a nonprofit organization rooted in the belief that tennis is more than a sport — it’s a pathway to opportunity, confidence, and community. Based in East Los Angeles and serving youth across L.A. County, we provide free and low-cost tennis programs to children and families in underserved neighborhoods where access to quality sports programming is limited.We serve kids as young as 6 years old through teens and even multi-generational families, offering not just STEM based tennis instruction but also mentorship, life skills, and wellness education. Our programs emphasize inclusion, joy, and equity — ensuring that every child, regardless of background or income, has a safe place to play, grow, and belong.At our core, we value community, creativity, and consistency. Whether we’re setting up short courts at a park with no tennis facilities or hosting STEM-based tennis workshops, everything we do is about youth development using tennis and fitness as a tool to inspire dreams and build futures — one serve at a time.
