Driver Assistant Needed - Help Rescue Food!Support our food recovery efforts by assisting drivers with grocery store pickups. Morning shifts available (7:00 AM - 11:00 AM). Must be able to lift boxes and work as part of a team. Your help ensures fresh food reaches families in need!
About Interfaith Food Center
Founded in 1983 by a coalition of local churches and synagogues, the Interfaith Food Center (IFC) began as a grassroots response to rising food insecurity among seniors and homeless. Today, IFC is a non-faith-based, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving Whittier, La Mirada, and Santa Fe Springs. Food insecurity continues to affect Los Angeles County at alarming rates. One in four households struggles to access enough food, with 30% of children and 20% of seniors at risk. Since 2020, IFC has seen a 41% increase in demand for food assistance, driven by economic instability and rising living costs.Program Overview Drive-Through Grocery Program: Serves housed families with 60-80 pounds of food per visit, including dairy, bread, meat, produce, canned goods, and dessert. Larger families receive additional food. Food is prebagged and loaded by volunteers.Food Program for the Unhoused: Offers three weekly distributions, each serving 60 individuals with ready-to-eat meals totaling 15-20 pounds per bag.
